Mood ring are so 70s. Dude, you need a Mood Map.

I’m traveling to NYC in the morning for my annual lost weekend with my sister. Imagine my luck when the latest Springwise.com newsletter arrived in my e-mail box, turning me on to the latest in travel accessories: I Feel Mood Maps.


Here’s what it said: “Guidebooks and recommendations are all very well, but there’s very little point in discovering a new activity, restaurant or shop if you’re not in the right headspace to enjoy it. Enter I Feel London (or Toronto, or New York ), a site that lets users search for things to do based on their mood.”

And right now I’m feeling energetic, so we’re going to go to Webster Hall where the dance floor bounces with the crowds. That could mean one of two things: it’s some new state of the art club or it’s a really old building ...

Anyway, the I Feel sites have a map for each one of nine moods: Naughty, Hungover, Energetic, Romantic, Sophisticated, Chill, Girly, Manly and Broke. Andy Whitlock, I Feel’s London-based founder, says, "Geography is about everything that is (literally) close to consumers, and it's a universally familiar method of organizing, finding and tracking relevant information on objects, events and people. And now that superior geographical information is accessible on-the-go – from in-car navigation to iPhones – the sky is the limit.”
