A Partnership Promotion is a promotional effort usually involving two businesses; businesses that do not typically share customers. The Monte Carlo offer is called a One-Way Partnership Promotion: the resort gives its guests a gift card that's redeemable at the shops at Town Square. Guests appreciate the savings, and the gift card looks like it's a gift from the resort. The Monte Carlo wins by gifting guests, and the Town Square retailers win by gaining new customers.
If this were a Two-Way Partnership Promotion, Town Square would reciprocate by offering a discount at the Monte Carlo. In this example the Town Square retailers win, the Monte Carlo wins, and the shoppers who redeem the offers win.
You can do the same thing! Partner with another business in your community whose customers you'd like to see in your store. Your offer could be a free gift or a discount coupon -- whatever works best to attract new customers to your store. You don't want your customers to overlap -- if you choose a partner whose customers already shop at your store, you're just giving away a discount. Instead, look for partners whose customer base does not currently shop at your store.
Tough times call for you to "go out for business." Yes, promotions require additional work and planning but they will attract shoppers. And in good times and in bad, that's what it's all about!
BTW: If you're planning a trip to Las Vegas visit http://www.smartervegas.com/ to book your room. Smarter Vegas lists each property's current offers -- and they're great deals! And the best thing is that you are booking directly through the property; not a third party. You'll find inside deals on rooms, shows and more. We use it all the time.
