This weekend the Elgin, Illinois Downtown Neighborhood Association is hosting a spectacular Cinco De Mayo Festival. Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexico's victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
The 2008 Festival's Committee Chairperson is Anna Garcia, our great friend and right arm. You may know Anna as our "Supreme Empress of Marketing"; Anna helps us stay on track; no mean feat when you travel as much as we travel. And no mean feat for Anna herself.
They always say "When you want something done, ask a busy woman”. Anna's a busy woman. She's a single mom with four great kids. In addition to chairing the 2008 Cinco De Mayo Festival, she runs a successful business. She's amazing.
And so is her festival. So, if you're anywhere near Elgin, Illinois this weekend, stop in for food, fun and festivities, like the Cinco De Mayo parade, Quinceanera Pageant, Little Miss Cinco De Mayo Pageant, Latino Idol Karaoke Competitions, kid's crafts, plus all kinds of bands and entertainers, and a carnival with all of your favorite rides and games.
And look for us! We'll be there, too!
