It's the weekend before Christmas -- Will you be ready?

Tomorrow is the BIG day we've all been waiting for: it's the Saturday before Christmas and the BIGGEST shopping day of the year!

Here are a few sales-building ideas for your "Things I Need To Do Right Now" list:

* Sell your gift cards / certificates at a discount. The shoppers saves 20 percent off the face value of the card -- the catch is the cards cannot be redeemed until after Christmas. This prevents customers from using the cards to get an extra discount on their holiday gifts. All the studies show that people who shop with gift cards spend far more than the face value of the card -- up to 50 percent more!

* Another sales-building idea: Give each customer who purchases a $25 card as a gift, a $5 gift card for themselves. This way you get two shoppers instead of one!

* This is the weekend that male shoppers come out in droves. They will be harried, they will be stressed, and they will need your help. If he comes in with a list, offer to fill it for him while he waits with a cup of coffee and a Christmas cookie. Make sure everyone on staff knows which items to recommend, including the add-on items needed to complete a project. And offer to gift wrap his purchases. (Your female shoppers will appreciate this as well!)

* And be sure to give every, single shopper a Bounce Back Coupon that's good from December 26 -- January 31. This coupon will help you build your January sales. Bounce Back Coupons are easy to make and print on your own computer. You can also e-mail us for a template info@kizerandbender.com

Okay, Retail Adventurers, the holiday sales-building clock is ticking and tomorrow's the big day. Let's get ready to practice a little crowd control!
