The 26th Anniversary Wizard of OZ Festival is being held in Chesterton, Indiana on September 14 -- 16.26 years ago Jean Nelson, former owner of the Yellow Brick Road Gift Shop and OZ Fantasy Museum, started this festival. Little did she know it would grow to become the world’s largest Wizard of OZ Fest. It's grown from one day and five shops to an OZ fantasy weekend with hundreds of vendors and tens of thousands of visitors.
Check this out. You can have Breakfast with the Munchkins (real ones from the original movie!), followed by the Munchkin Autograph Session. You can enter the Scarecrow, Lion, Tin Man or Dorothy Look-A-Like Contests; even a Wicked Witch Cackling Contest. Sounds like fun, doesn't it?
See what just ONE RETAILER can do?
Our good friend Roger Baum, author and great-grandson of L. Frank Baum, will be there, too. Roger's hosting "Story Time With Roger Baum". We met Roger about 10 years ago at the Emerald City Gift shop in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Roger was signing books and we were buying! If you're ever in the market for a unique gift, get one of Roger's many books. Before he signs your book, Roger will ask you a bunch of questions about who it's for; then he writes a mini OZ saga on the inside cover -- a unique story about the lucky recipient that's integrated with the Wizard of OZ characters. We've given many, many of Roger's books as special gifts to special people over the years.

We've always said that a one time event is a good thing, but an ANNUAL EVENT is even better. A 26 year old city-wide festival that was started by a single retailer with a dream? THE BEST!
