We always say the that best ideas for improving your business come from other industries. The hotel and food industries are always a good place to look for new customer service ideas. Now, your local car wash is getting in on the act.
The Wall Street Journal reports on added services car washes are using to attract customers:
Turtle Wax full-serve car washes relieve stress for time-starved customers by cutting the time it takes to wash your car from 15 minutes to 10. They've also added Wi-Fi in their waiting rooms. Next year Turtle Wax plans to introduce aromatherapy scents for cars, internet kiosks, and turtles in aquariums to amuse kids of all ages.
Other car washes offer pick up and delivery service, plus they'll wash your car while you shop or while you're at work. And most places offer a satisfaction guarantee, plus a rain check if it rains within the first 24-48 hours after your wash. The Wall Street Journal also reports that some savvy car washes have also opened dog washes -- now Fido and your Jag can come clean at the same time!
You can now sign-up for Frequent Washer Clubs, unlimited passes for unlimited car washes and discount coupon books good for 5-10 washes.
It costs up to five times as much to attract a new customer as it does to retain a loyal customer.
What are you doing in your store RIGHT NOW to attract both?
As always thank you for the inspiration! I have decided to take the plunge and put an aquariam in my scrapbook store. I think it will add character and delight the children that come in with their mothers.
